Nikki Tapper MBE is an award-winning, veteran broadcaster whose warm, engaging presence is deeply rooted in the Birmingham and West Midlands radio landscape. Watching TV and listening to radio from an early age inspired the Smethwick-born broadcaster to pursue presenting in her early thirties. Her distinguished career began on local restricted service stations before she co-presented and solo-hosted the Gospel show on Galaxy 102.2. Approached by BBC WM in 2003, she became a familiar voice across BBC Radio WM and CWR, famously fronting The Gospel Lounge for nine years and hosting Sunday Night with Nikki Tapper. Awarded an MBE for her outstanding services to broadcasting and the community, she is intensely passionate about mentoring the next generation and championing Gospel Music of Black Origin. Nikki is now pleased to bring her flagship show, Tapper’s Tree, to the Affinity Xtra team.
